Citizenship/Status Verification Form

Instructions:

For all terms prior to Spring 2023, Arizona state law requires students to verify citizenship or lawful immigration status if they are classified as residents for tuition purposes or if they are seeking any type of financial assistance that is subsidized or paid in whole or in part with state monies.  Students complete this requirement by:

FAFSA is preferred and students verified via the FAFSA do not need to provide any additional documentation.  Your FAFSA will complete this requirement when ASU receives and accepts your FAFSA (which is typically five to seven days after your FAFSA is submitted to the US Department of Education).

Students not completing the FAFSA can submit appropriate documents electronically, in-person or via e-mail.  All documentation is subject to review and students may be asked to provide additional information.  Processing time is 2-3 business days after your documents are submitted.

Note: International students on an F-1 or J-1 visa who have a citizenship verification financial aid disbursement hold for a scholarship need to complete the citizenship verification requirement AFTER they arrive on campus.
